Satchmo Taxi proudly borrows its name from the legendary Louis Armstrong. As a young boy in New Orleans, Armstrong would tuck his hard-earned coins into his cheek—using his mouth like a little “satchel” to keep them safe from older boys. That clever habit earned him the nickname “Satchel Mouth,” later affectionately shortened to “Satchmo.”

Just as Armstrong protected what mattered most, Satchmo Taxi was created by Louis Armstrong Impressionist John Redmon to protect what matters to our travelers within our community—fair pricing, reliable service, and a transportation experience you can trust.
